Specific Responsibilities:

The Investigators' Workshop committee recruits proposals for Workshops from the AES membership. The committee is dependent on these proposals to select eleven workshops for the following year's Annual Meeting. Workshops are 90 minutes and normally feature three speakers, a chairperson and one or two discussants.  In addition, particularly noteworthy poster presentations that fit topics of the Investigators' Workshops are selected for a designated Investigators' Workshop Poster Session. The purpose of both the workshops and the poster session is to promote discussion and interaction on novel and timely concepts in epilepsy research. In addition, the Investigators' Workshops have traditionally included high-profile speakers from outside the AES, bringing new impulses to epilepsy research within the AES.

Suggestions for IWs are solicited from the AES membership in November.  Proposals are discussed in the weeks leading up to the Annual Meeting and are selected during the Annual Meeting at the joint Investigators' Workshop and Clinical Investigators' Workshop Committee meeting for the following year.
